Artist's Statement
I have had the feeling and passion for Art sense grade school, maybe even earlier. Always wanting to draw. Color pencils, charcoal, paints, pastels. Placing thoughts and things on paper, adding color and or design.
I still remember and have the feeling of how the colors in the Stained Glassed window in a church made me feel when the sun came out from behind the clouds and the light just brought the glass and design alive.
High School and beyond I turned to a lot of different ways to express my Art. Landscape painting in Oils and Acrylics on canvas. Then moving into, wood and clay. Tinsmithing, Stained Glass work, Glass beads and Glass sculpturing.
I have gone to full circle now and returned to Oil Painting. After finding and learning about the Hudson River School of Painting and Thomas Cole, this trail has led me to more need and wants for my landscapes to develope to, and has opened the studies of European Painting of Old. The Great Masters in all the Arts pre 18th century. And of coarse from the 17, and 1800s in America, when those Artist gave Europe it's first glance of American Art and Artist.
